Initial Perceptions

Choose 5 websites that you think are good and say why. You can use criteria from your readings or create your own. Add your comments to this post. If one of your websites has already been chosen and commented on, choose another, so that all of us post different websites.

Here are five of my favorite HTML and CSS websites, in no particular order:
  1. A List Apart
The EKU Web follows the ways of A List Apart's articles.

  2. Myer Web
Eric Myer is a CSS expert. I believe he is the principal creator of CSS!

  3. Flash Interactivity and Animation
A great place to visit for Flash tutorials and sample files.

  4. HTML Goodies
Can't remember how to do something? This is a great place to start!

  5. Dave Raggett's Introduction to HTML
Notice the web address. Since this tutorial sits on the w3.org site, I'm inclined to give it more weight.

Here's a list of five websites that I visit very often. Most of them are flash based, I think that's why I like them so much.

Luna Halo This is a band that my band has performed with before. I used to keep in contact with the gentleman who built this website. He does a very good job.

Seventh Time Down This is the website for my band. Sorry I guess this could be considered shamless self promotion. :-) The girl who builds this site for us does it for free. It's not perfect by any means but I enjoy looking at it.

Homestar Runner Simply amazing! That's all I can say about this site. Not only is it super funny but imagine the time that it takes for them to build each one of these cartoons. I have a lot of respect for these designers and the time that they put into this site.

The Elms Another band that my band plays with very often. This website is new for the band. I like this website because the background constantly changes but there are words that stay over top of the background. I would love to learn how to do that.

Staple Another band that we play with from time to time. I really like this site because it's very catchy. I love all of the design elements that were used in created this site. It just has a neat vibe.

So those are my favorite sites. Hope you all enjoyed them as well.

1. Yahoo.com - What can I say, its the page my browser opens up to. It's super fast and convient. The news topics of the day are located on the right side, which makes them easy to see. It's organized and easy to navigate.

2. LeAnn-Rimes.com - I have to add this site. Although its under construction at the moment. I'm a big LeAnn fan, and I design it myself so I guess I'm being partial to my own work.

3. Bluenote.com - An excellent music site. You can search, buy products, and check out what's new in the music industry. It also features "Bluenote Radio" so not only do you read the site but you can also listen.

4. Swishzone.com - This site definitely comes in handy if your a desiger. It has lots of "goodies". You can use this product to create any type of flash movies. It's 100% cheaper than flash, and exports the same quality. I find it a much better resource and a lot more "user friendly" than flash.

5. Country.com - Again, I'm a big music fan. It's well designed and easy to navigate. The colors scheme is easy on your eyes. The drop down menus at the top are nice, you can easily find whatever your looking for. This site is not only words but also features music and video. That's a plus!

"BREAKING NEWS"
===============

-Energy and Asset Technology, Inc. (EGTY) owns a global license to market
the genetically enhanced Global Cedar growth trees, with plans to
REVOLUTIONIZE the forest-timber industry.

These newly enhanced Global Cedar trees require only 9-12 years of growth before they can
be harvested for lumber, whereas worldwide growth time for lumber is 30-50 years.

Other than growing at an astonishing rate, the Global Cedar has a number of other benefits.
Its natural elements make it resistant to termites, and the lack of oils and sap found in the wood
make it resistant to forest fire, ensuring higher returns on investments.

The wood is very lightweight and strong, lighter than Poplar and over twice
as strong as Balsa, which makes it great for construction. It also has
the unique ability to regrow itself from the stump, minimizing the land and
time to replant and develop new root systems.

Based on current resources and agreements, EGTY projects revenues of $140 Million
with an approximate profit margin of 40% for each 9-year cycle. With anticipated
growth, EGTY is expected to challenge Deltic Timber Corp. during its initial 9-year cycle.

Deltic Timber Corp. currently trades at over $38.00 a share with about $153 Million in revenues.
As the reputation and demand for the Global Cedar tree continues to grow around the world
EGTY believes additional multi-million dollar agreements will be forthcoming. The Global Cedar nursery has produced
about 100,000 infant plants and is developing a production growth target of 250,000 infant plants per month.

Energy and Asset Technology is currently in negotiations with land and business owners in New Zealand,
Greece and Malaysia regarding the purchase of their popular and profitable fast growing infant tree plants.
Inquiries from the governments of Brazil and Ecuador are also being evaluated.

The examples above show the Awesome, Earning Potential of little
